The Body Shop Seaweed Collection | AlexRocksXO

So you all probably know by now that I love The Body Shop. I love more or less everything in their shop and have built up a bit of a collection, and by a bit I mean a big collection.. I went in there the other day to pick up a couple of bits and ended up buying some new skincare items, all from the Seaweed line.


I bought the Deep Cleansing Facial Wash and the Clarifying Night Treatment. These two items were an amazing addition to my collection and I am loving them. Paired up with my other seaweed items these are really helping clear my skin. In the mornings I use the toner and the mattifying day cream, and the day cream really does work and keeps me from looking shiny or oily throughout the day. In the evening I use all the products, minus the exfoliator some nights if my skin needs a rest.
The only downfall with these products is the toner is running out really fast and I've only been using it a few days. My Eau Roma Water from LUSH has lasted me six months now and it's still pretty full.. Even still this range is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone with combination skin like mine!

Mojito Cupcakes Recipe | AlexRocksXO

Hi guys.
I have been totally addicted to The Great British Bake Off  lately and have really been in the mood to bake. With this crappy weather coming up I wanted to create something with fresh and summery flavours, and on my trip to Paris this week I had a Mojito and I loved the flavours in it so I decided to turn them into a cake. Mojito Cupcakes

Ingredients (Room temperature) 

Cake:
- 150g Butter
- 150g Sugar
- 150g Self Raising Flour
- 3 Eggs
- 2 Limes
- Rum (Optional)

Icing
- 200g Icing Sugar
- 100g butter
- Fresh Mint
- Green Food Colouring

Step One
Cream together the butter and the sugar. Beat the eggs in a mug and add in slowly, making sure all the egg is beaten in before adding more.

Step Two
Sift in the flour and fold it in. When its all folded in zest the two limes and add that in, then add in the juice of the limes. If you like you can add in a splash of rum to make it a true mojito cake, but this is optional. If the mixture is too runny add in a tbsp more flour and fold it in.

Step Three
Spoon into cupcake cases 3/4 full and then bake for 20 minutes at 180C. To test if they are ready stick a skewer in the middle, if it comes out clean they are ready, if not put back in for 3 minutes and check again.

Step Four
Cream together the icing sugar and butter together until it is a smooth cream. Chop up your fresh mint and add it in, the amount you add depends on how strong you want the flavour, I used a large handful. Add in some green food colouring if you like, just enough to give it a pastel colouring.

Step Five
When the cakes have cooled down either spread the icing over the top or if you have a piping bag pipe the icing over the top. My piping was a bit dodgy because my nozzle kept getting clogged with the mint, so make sure your nozzle is big enough. Sprinkle on some crystallised sugar for some crunch on the top, but this is optional.

And that's it! Fresh Mojito Cupcakes and they are so easy to make. This made 16 cakes and there are only 3 left in the house so if you make them hide a few to enjoy later on!
